Paintball Protection

Although you can play paintball anytime during the year, more people seem to play it during the summer.  The warmer months offer more cover and dense forest for which to strategically move while attempting to capture the other teams flag.
Cellular-Blowout protect your phone from paintballs
Paintball can be one of the more exhilarating and entertaining experiences that you can take part in.  It does pose some dangers, but when taking the proper precautions, it can be perfectly safe.  We all know how important it is to wear a mask so that high-speed paintballs do not strike our face or eyes.

But the game of paintball also poses a high risk to your cellphone.  Most people don’t like to be without their cellphone.  This is understandable as you always want to have it in case of an emergency and you don’t want anyone to steal the expensive device.  However,  there are two separate ways that your phone can become lost or damaged if you play paintball with your phone in your pocket.

1) Paintballs:  As unlikely as it may be, paintballs have and will hit your phone while its in your pocket.  We’ve seen it happen.  Although a paintball generally won’t hurt you, a the force of a paintball can crack the screen of your phone.  The same warning applies to those out there who wear insulin pumps.
2) Falling Out of Your Pocket:  You need to move quickly and often while playing paintball. This constant and vigorous movement can cause your phone to fall out of your pocket.  Not only does this create the possibility of damage from the fall, but this could also lead to your phone getting lost.  You’re not going to constantly be checking for your phone, so unless you noticed it fell as it happens, a phone will be hard to find on the forest floor.

So if you are going to be playing paintball in the near future, please leave your cellphones in your vehicles or with your equipment in your safe zone.  At the very least, keep your phone safe with the help of a protective cellphone case.  Be safe and happy hunting!

Cellphones are expensive pieces of equipment.  They are also very fragile.  If your cell should be damaged, not only are you out the money you need to repair or replace it, but you will also be without a cellular device for a period of time.

Cellular-Blowout Keeping track of your CellphoneBut obviously nobody breaks their cellphones on purpose.  Therefore, it is important to always keep track of your phone so that it doesn’t accidentally fall and get damaged.  Here are some instances in which you should always be mindful of your cellphone’s whereabouts:
1) When Standing Up:  If you are seated and your phone is in your pocket there is always the chance that it could slide out on your way up.  If you are about to stand up, hold your phone or your pocket to help keep it in place.

2) In A Purse:  If your phone is in your purse and you quickly pick up your purse to go, it could fly out and crash to the floor.  Make sure to take your time with your purse so that this does not happen.

3) Entering/Exiting a Vehicle:  If your phone is in your pocket, purse, other carrying device, the motion of getting into or out of a vehicle could dislodge your phone.  There is extra danger here, because if your phone falls, it could fall onto the road an you may not notice.  This means that as you drive away you could run it over with your car, or have it picked up by someone who passes by.

There are obviously countless ways in which your phone could get damaged.  By keeping the above instances in the back of your mind, perhaps you can help prevent the most common accidents from occurring.  Don’t forget that for added protection, you should consider pick up a cellphone protective case.

Cellphone Accessories

In this day in age, we are almost bound to our cellphones.  Most of us check our email, manage our Facebook and Twitter accounts, trade stocks, get weather forecasts, manage our fantasy sports teams, take pictures and video, or listen to Satellite radio.  Even if you only use your cellphone as an actual phone, not having it on you means that you are potentially disconnected from society.

Cell Phone Courtesy Month

Cellular-Blowout July is National Cell Phone Courtesy MonthNow that we have moved into July, we wanted to let you know that we have also moved into Cell Phone Courtesy Month.  Below are a few tips, that we can all attempt to practice in order to be more courteous while on our cell phones.

1) Low Ringer Volume:  Sometimes, when cell phones ring, people have the ringer volume set very high.  This can be distracting, or in certain cases, startling.  This is only complicated if the person needs to dig through a pocket or purse to find the phone, because the ring goes on longer. Please keep your ringer volume low or on vibrate if you are in a public place.

2) Low Speaking Volume:  The person on the other end of the phone call will be able to hear you if you speak in a normal volume.  If you are in a public place such as a restaurant, on a bus, in a waiting room, etc., please keep your voice low.  We don’t want to know everything that’s going on with your life.

3) Keep Your Call Short:  We all don’t want to know every detail of your day, your week, your medical conditions, or your court proceedings.  If you are in a public place keep your conversations short.  If it is a call that you must take, kindly excuse yourself and go out into a hallway or outside.

4) Movie Theaters:  We already talked about cell phones and movie theaters.  Bottom line:  You shouldn’t ever take your cell phone out of your purse or pocket if you are watching a movie.

These are just some tips to remember.  So long as you think about how your actions with your cell phone might effect others, then act in a courteous manner, then you are help fighting the good fight.

Have a lovely July!

Stay Safe While Driving

As we all know, it is not safe to use your cellphone to call, text, take pictures, etc. while you are driving.  Although it is easy to think that you are in control while driving, it only takes that split second to lose control or to be surprised.  Why risk your life and the lives of those around you just so you can send a text message?

bluetoothBut we also know that there are just some emergency situations where you need to accept or make a phone call.  In instances such as this, may we please recommend that you use a Bluetooth hands free device?

A Bluetooth is a device that allows you to be hands free when using your cell phone.  Through the use of a wireless signal, your phone can automatically transmit the signal to the Bluetooth, which you wear on your ear.  This way you can hear everything that is being said right in your ear, while you keep your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road.

You can find a large selection of Bluetooths at Cellular-Blowout.com.

Cell Phones and Pockets

pocketWhere do you keep your cell phone when you aren’t using it?  Where you keep your cell phone is an important decision and it’s something you should take the time to think about.

There are a lot of places where a cell phone can be kept when not in use:  In a purse, in your car, on your desk, on your nightstand, or  connected to a battery charger.  You could also put your cell phone into your pocket.

But there are dangerous that can arise when you keep your phone in your pocket.  The first is that the screen can get scratched by things like car keys or loose change.  A scratched screen makes things hard to see and if it is a touch screen, could damage the sensitivity.  Additionally, cell phones can fall out of pockets.

Let’s say you like to keep your phone on in your cargo pants pocket.  If you are sitting down at your desk, in a chair, or to get into your car,  your phone could slide out of your pocket and become damaged.  If the phone falls onto the road, not only could it get damaged by passing cars, but it could also be stolen.

So make sure you keep your cell phone in safe location when you aren’t using it, as you don’t want it to become damaged or lost.
